Spearfish, SD – Officials are planning to open snowmobile trails in the Black Hills area on December 15, 2012, weather permitting. The snowmobile trail program is a cooperative effort between the South Dakota Game Fish and Parks Recreation Department and the Black Hills National Forest.

The Days of ’76, a Deadwood staple each July for the past 90 years, was honored with its 9th straight Medium Outdoor Rodeo of the Year award on Wednesday in Las Vegas during the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association’s National Convention. It’s the Days of ‘76’s 13th Rodeo of the Year award, having won four Small Outdoor Rodeo of the Year honors before moving to the Medium class.
